MirraArena FAQ: Everything You Need to Know

Visitor & Experience Questions
What is MirraArena?
MirraArena is a Social Game Arena, a new format of group entertainment that combines hands-free VR gameplay, live spectators, and a show production layer into one shared experience. Players compete inside immersive game worlds. Everyone else in the venue watches the action unfold on a massive LED display wall, in real time, like a live sporting event. It's built for groups, designed for all ages, and requires zero gaming experience to enjoy.
What makes it different from a VR arcade?
A VR arcade gives each person a solo experience inside a headset. Spectators see nothing. Groups fragment. MirraArena is the opposite: everything happening inside VR is broadcast live on a shared 25-foot screen. Players and spectators share the same moment. Your friends who aren't playing become the crowd cheering you on, not people waiting in the lobby. That's the core difference.
Do I need to know how to play video games?
No. MirraArena uses full-body tracking, there are no hand controllers, no buttons to memorize, no tutorials to sit through. If you can move your body, you can play. Guests as young as 8 and as old as 80+ play without any prior VR or gaming experience. The games are intentionally designed so that anyone can understand what's happening in about ten seconds.
What games can I play?
MirraArena has 12+ titles, including:
- Sweet Kitchen, cooperative cooking chaos (social media hit with 800K+ views)
- Hockey Smash, 4v4 full-contact air hockey in a floating arena
- Hyper Rhythm, full-body dance challenge in outer space
- Laser Room, navigate a mysterious lab without triggering the grid
- Treasure Dash, sprint through an ancient temple with a dragon chasing you
New games and content are added continuously as software updates, no hardware changes required. This is why venues feel fresh on repeat visits.
How long does a session last?
- Open Play: ~20 minutes. Up to 8 players, three games back-to-back. Best for walk-ins or quick group visits.
- Showdown: 60 minutes. Up to 24 players, four teams of six, competing across 5 rounds of VR party games, with a virtual host, live scoring, and a champion reveal.
How many people can play at once?
Up to 8 players inside the arena at one time. The Showdown format supports up to 24 participants (4 teams of 6), with the spectator area accommodating 50–300 people depending on the venue size.
Is it safe for children?
Yes. The minimum age recommendation is 8 years old. The headsets are lightweight and calibrated for different head sizes. Games are non-violent and designed for family audiences. Birthday celebrations are one of MirraArena's top booking categories, for kids, teens, adults, and seniors alike.
How is the booking process different from an escape room or bowling?
Booking is done directly through the venue or operator's website. Each MirraArena location manages its own reservations. Corporate and group bookings include dedicated support to customize the format and handle team logistics. Unlike escape rooms, MirraArena does not have a fixed capacity ceiling, the Showdown format accommodates up to 24 players (4 teams of 6), with larger spectator groups accommodated separately.
Corporate & Group Event Questions
Why do companies book MirraArena for team building?
Three reasons most corporate groups cite: (1) It works for everyone regardless of role, fitness level, or gaming experience. (2) The spectator experience means team members who aren't playing still stay engaged and invested. (3) The competitive structure creates real team dynamics, leadership, strategy, encouragement, that feel earned rather than manufactured.
Corporate and team building accounts for roughly 40% of MirraArena's bookings at the Bellevue flagship.
What group sizes do you accommodate?
Groups of 12 to 200+ can be structured around the Showdown format, with rotating teams and a spectator gallery. For very large corporate events (100+), MirraArena can run back-to-back sessions across an evening.
Do you offer private venue buyouts?
Yes. Full venue buyouts are available for corporate events, product launches, company parties, and branded activations. The LED display wall can also display custom branding and messaging during buyout events.
Venue Operator & Licensing Questions
What is the MirraArena licensing model?
MirraArena is available as a turnkey platform license for entertainment venue operators. The license includes the arena hardware system, the Mirra Immersive Game Show System (software + show engine), game catalog, operational playbooks, staff training, and ongoing content updates. Operators do not need to develop any technology, they license a complete, operating business model.
What type of venues are a good fit?
MirraArena has been deployed across multiple venue types:
- Movie theaters (integrated into lobby or adjacent space)
- Family entertainment centers (FECs)
- Bars and nightlife venues
- Hotels and resorts
- Malls and mixed-use retail
- Bowling venues
- Trampoline parks
- Standalone social entertainment venues
The system is designed to work in a wide variety of commercial spaces. The full MirraArena module (arena + bar + spectator area) requires approximately 300 sqm (3,200 sq ft). The arena-only footprint is approximately 64 sqm (25' × 25').
What does the hardware setup involve?
The core arena is a 25' × 25' play space with full-body VR tracking. The spectator experience is anchored by an LED display wall (up to 25' × 13') that broadcasts live gameplay. The Mirra Immersive Game Show System handles AI-powered production, camera selection, instant replays, highlight generation, virtual hosting, automatically, so one staff member can run a full session.
How many staff are required to operate?
One trained staff member can operate a complete MirraArena session. The AI show engine handles production tasks that would otherwise require a host, a DJ, and a tech operator. This is a core operational differentiator for venue partners managing labor costs.
How often does the game content update?
New games and seasonal content are delivered as software updates, approximately quarterly. Operators receive new content as part of the platform license without hardware upgrades or construction. This keeps repeat visit rates high, guests who came three months ago have new experiences waiting.
Where is MirraArena currently operating?
